Saval Foodservice has been honored with the 2023 RAMMY Joan Hisaoka Allied Member of the Year Award!

Last night at the 2023 Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington RAMMY Award Celebration, Saval Foodservice was announced as the recipient of the Joan Hisaoka Allied Member of the Year Award!

The Joan Hisaoka Allied Member of the Year Award is presented to an associate member who best exemplifies commitment to and support of RAMW. This award recipient is determined by the Executive Committee of RAMW.

The event was a smash hit and featured delicious hors d'oeuvres, dancing, cocktails and served as a celebration of the restaurant community in the Washington D.C. region. The dinner menu featured our local Supplier, Meat Crafter's lamb sausage with a decadent risotto.

We'd like to thank RAMW for an incredible event and for this incredible honor. Check out the video of Vice President Brian Saval's speech below!

Among the distinguished award winners was the legend Ris Lacoste, Chef/Owner of RIS Restaurant who received the Duke Zeibert Capital Achievement Award for her excellence and community leadership. Within her acceptance remarks, she mentioned the importance of "taking care of your vendors.", going as far as saying, "and your delivery drivers!! Offer them a pepsi, or a hot chocolate!", which received much applause from the Saval section. Her passionate words on the importance of taking care of your fellow food service community were inspiring and something we hope to instill in our own company culture.

There was a second round of excitement as our customer, Compliments Only Subs won Hottest Sandwich Spot! I guess we have to get new Tee Shirts made that say "Winner", instead of Finalist!

If we weren't proud enough already- because why be the local distributor if you can't root for the local and independent restaurant- they gave a special shout out to their Saval Sales Rep, Eric during their speech.
