To qualify for the award, each company had to meet location and size requirements while having a certain number of employees working in the Baltimore area. All eligible employees were invited to take the survey, with each company receiving a score out of 100 percent. Companies were then grouped into four categories based on the number of employees – Micro, Small, Medium, and Large – and then ranked according to their scores.
Among eight companies in the Large Company category, Saval earned first place.
While accepting the award, Paul Saval was asked to describe the company in one word. His answer was commitment – commitment to our employees, commitment to each other, commitment to our customers, commitment to the communities we serve, and commitment to the legacy that has been built over generations.
