BEER BATTERED ONION RINGS

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups AP Flour- Divided
  • 1 ½ cups Local Yummy Beer (very important)
  • 2 large Yellow or Vidalia Onions (cut into rings)
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder

Directions:

  1. Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl, setting aside ½ cup of flour.
  2. Add beer and whisk until all of the lumps are gone (whisk a lot!).
  3. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Dredge rings in the reserved flour, then dip in batter, alternating hands (dry to wet). Make sure you coat each ring on all sides.
  5. Fry until golden in 355 Degree Oil, flipping halfway through, for about 3-5 minutes.
  6. Serve with your favorite sauce! We recommend a nice Chipotle Mayo.

BREADED ONION RINGS

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups AP Flour
  • 4 Eggs, Beaten
  • Equal Volume of Cool Water to Eggs (1/2-1/2 mixture eggs and water is goal)
  • 2 large Yellow or Vidalia Onions (cut into rings)
  • 2 cups Panko Breadcrumbs (81233, GoldenDipt)

Directions:

  1. Dredge rings in flour then egg mixture, then flour, then egg mixture, then seasoned panko. Alternating hands (dry to wet).
  2. We will say that again: Flour | Egg+Water | Flour | Egg+Water | Panko
  3. Yes you dip twice in flour & egg+water. Trust us.
  4. Fry until golden in 355 Degree Oil, flipping halfway through for about 3-5 minutes. Make sure you shake off the excess flour before frying to extend the life of your oil.

Serve with your favorite sauce, throw them on a burger, fling them across the kitchen like a frisbee?

It’s your onion ring, after all.
