Territory Manager, Howard County

Job Description:

  • Maintain current customer relationships in a team based selling model.
  • Develop new business, identify prospective customers that fit Saval’s model of supporting the independent restaurant and hospitality community.
  • Share market and product knowledge with your customers. Learn how to sell against competitor items and share that information with prospects and customers.
  • Communicate and collect accounts receivable as needed. Be in clear contact with the credit department to collect all balances due.
  • Leverage other resources to assist with penetrating current accounts. Utilize brokers and other resources provided by the company for samplings and product cuttings to help assist in growing sales.

qualifications:
  • Active Driver's License.
  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to think and react quickly.
  • Problem solving and negotiation skills.
  • A “think outside the box” mentality.
  • MUST live in the Howard County, MD area.

experience:
  • Minimum of 2 year of experience in food sales.
  • B2B sales experience or culinary/restaurant management experience preferred.

skills:
  • Passion for food, customer service, and work ethic.
  • Promoting a positive company image.
  • Working with both internal and external customers in order to achieve agreed upon goals.

compensation:

Salary expectations: Base Salary is from $90,000 per year to start. Total Compensation package also includes Commissions, Bonuses and additional cash opportunities.

Direct sales representatives start on salary for a period of time until they reach a mutually agreed upon sales goal at which time compensation will convert to commission. Beginning salary will be commensurate with experience in sales and/or foodservice.
