Production Manager

Supervise production crews.

Utilize World Class Manufacturing techniques to drive operational results and performance measures.

Ability to coach and lead work teams to achieve performance, quality, cost and service goals.

Ensure adherence to policies, procedures and practices.

Administrative duties related to production/quality performance.

Promote and Drive continuous improvement programs utilizing common problem solving tools and methodologies in processes and procedures within the shift/ operating line/ department for root cause analysis and resolution of issues.

Actively plan and organize the day to day manufacturing operations and schedules for Production as it pertains to Meat Preparation through Packing (i.e. Trimming, Injecting, Mixing Brine, Packing, record keeping, ect.) Based on department needs.

Anticipate and drive proper alignment and prioritization between production and support teams.

Assure team members are trained and understand duties, responsibilities, and performance against established expectations.

Provide timely coaching, counseling and feedback.

Develop all line personnel by securing appropriate training, providing mentoring and assigning progressively challenging stretch responsibilities within the scope of the team and department accountabilities.

Champion positive employee relations by maintaining a high profile presence on the floor, direct engagement with employees, regular open communications and encouraging knowledge sharing and open exchange of ideas.

Full Time
job schedule:
Two Shifts available: Monday-Friday, 6am-2:30pm and 2pm-10pm.
qualifications:

Understanding of manufacturing regulations regarding safety, quality, HACCP and GMP’s.

Experience with plant safety programs.

Willingness to work primarily during the 2ndshift, with an ability to work some day & weekends.

Must be comfortable at giving and receiving open feedback.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Must possess the following traits; proactive, risk taker, courage, and the ability to accept change.

BRC knowledge - plus

Bilingual – English/Spanish –plus

experience:

4 year college degree in Food Science, Management, Manufacturing or related field preferred.

3+ years experience in a meat (further processing) environment.

2+ years experience in direct supervision in a manufacturing environment.

Excellent organizational skills with a high degree of initiative and flexibility.

Good analytical and problem solving skills.

Strong interpersonal, communication, and team building skills.

Proven ability to define performance measures related to the business and hold associates accountable for the same.

Ability to analyze cost performance data to improve operations and reduce costs.

compensation:

$55,000-$75,000
